Senior Advisor — Ceremonial Flowers, Beijing Olympic Games (2008)

APPOINTED BY THE BEIJING OLYMPIC ORGANIZING COMMITTEE AND THE GOVERNMENTAL PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR OLYMPIC CEREMONIAL FLOWERS.

In June 2007, Tomas De Bruyne was officially appointed as Senior Advisor of Ceremonial Flowers for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. This honor was conferred by the Committee for “Flowers to Olympic Games and Increasing Gloss for the Motherland” in collaboration with the Governmental Production and Distribution Center for Olympic Ceremonial Flowers.
The appointment recognized Tomas’s exceptional artistic expertise and his ability to merge cultural symbolism with contemporary floral design.
As Senior Advisor, he contributed to shaping the floral concepts used in the Olympic ceremonies — where tradition, national pride, and artistic expression converged on one of the world’s most-watched stages.
This distinction stands as a testament to his international authority and to the role of floral design as an instrument of cultural storytelling and national representation.
